Motion Interpretation and Synthesis by ICA
نویسنده
چکیده
It is known that high-dimensional human motion data lies in a low dimensional space. Looking for independent sub-motions that contribute to generating complicated human motions is an interesting task on its own merits. Independent Component Analysis (ICA) can extract independent factors of an observed signal. In this paper, ICA is applied to the reconstructed human motion data by PCA. Experimental results show that, if the low dimenality is appropriately chosen, ICA can find meaningful sub-motions. Independent sub-motions make it easy to complete missing human motion data. Preliminary results on synthesizing missing human motion data by self-regression using Gassian Process will also be discussed in the paper.

This report introduces the emerging Wavelet-based video coding system. Inefficiency of the block-based motion estimation in context of the wavelet coder is discussed in comparison to the mesh-based approach. A progressive mesh refinement technique using multiple layers is proposed also a fast motion estimation based on the redundant wavelet is presented that outperforms a full-search motion est...
متن کاملIndependent Component Analysis of Electrogastrographic Signals
Electrogastrogram (EGG) is a noninvasive recording of the electrical activity of the stomach. Dominant component of gastric electrical activity called also slow waves originates from the activity of the network of interstitial cells of Cajal located in the gastric wall. The electrogastrographic signal requires longer recording times (usually tens of minutes) due to the low frequency of the slow...
متن کاملBeyond Independent Components
Independent component analysis (ICA) attempts to nd a linear decomposition of observed data vectors into components that are statistically independent. It is well known, however, that such a decomposition cannot be exactly found, and in many practical applications, independence is not achieved even approximately. This raises the question on the utility and interpretation of the components given...
متن کاملElectrogastrographic Signals Analyzed by Independent Component Analysis
Electrical activity of the stomach pacemaker structure, the network of interstitial cells of Cajal, can be noninvasively recorded as an electrogastrogram (EGG). Power of the EGG signal is, however, much weaker in comparison with the other biological signals (e.g. ECG, respiratory signal). EGG signal is therefore usually contaminated by other biological signals and artifacts, which are difficult...
